


Instead, just let it sit for a little bit and it should be able to start pulling down updates for Windows automatically. Log in to the PC and make sure it's connected to the network so it has an internet connection but DON'T open Windows Update to search for updates. THEN install this hotfix and restart the PC. Then before you run that hotfix, MAKE SURE to STOP the Windows Updates service so it's not running. The best solution I have discovered is to download KB3102810. Some computers I've left sitting connected to the network on Friday, only to come back on Monday to find that they still have not received an update despite my company's policy settings that are configured for nightly updates. I have been running into that exact same issue on every Win 7 SP1 I have installed on Lenovo, HP and Toshiba laptops.
