Lots of bugs during the hike, so remember your bug spray. From their we dismounted and hikes (somewhat vigorous in parts) to a waterfall and pool, where we were able to relax, get some pictures, and some people got it in (water was pretty cool). The ride guide was informative and attentive, and we went off on our slow ride to the mountains. The ride was a little altered in the beginning as the county was using part of the ranch/roads to deposit all the debris and mud from the Hanalei Road closure, but it probably only took off maybe 5-10 minutes of riding.
We had done this particular ride a few years ago, but returned this time with another couple. We did the 3 hour horseback ride in Princeville towards the end of April, 2021, shortly after the island had rejoined travel guides from the other islands, so things were just getting up to speed.
